Wish Farms is kicking-off what promises to be its biggest Florida strawberry season thus far. The first fruits of the season are harvested from 150 acres and will be available for purchase at most major local grocery store chains just in time for the holidays. A full supply of berries is projected to be available by mid-December, early enough for the holiday push. On top of the more traditional bare root plant, Wish Farms is harvesting plug plants that are transferred to the fields when growth has already been established, effectively producing fruit quicker and with potential for a greater yield. Gary Wishnatzki, President and CEO of Wish Farms states, "This year, our strawberry acreage increased from 1,500 to over 2,000...In past years, our season begins in December, so we are excited for our customers to enjoy our berries just in time for Thanksgiving.”

www.wishfarms.com
