KINGSBURG, CA - As I got to know the team over at Scattaglia Growers and Shippers (SGS) this year, several things stood out to me. The company prides itself on being an ideal partner to the buy-side, ensuring that its operational efficiencies travel all the way to retail. High-quality fruit, expansions, and more colored the grower’s 2023. Kira Navison, Marketing Director, shared with me a few more highlights from the past year before jumping into what's ahead for the new year.

Kira Navison, Marketing Director, Scattaglia Growers and Shippers“We were hit with early weather but the fruit quality and size were still good, and both the growers and our customers were pleased with the returns. It was a wonderful season,” she told me.

As Kira has explained to me previously, SGS’ fruit is only harvested when it reaches the right size, sugar content, color, and flavor to ensure that every customer gets the best quality product.

Outside of a banner season, SGS also began its own citrus program, which Kira remarked that the company hopes to continue developing in 2024.

“Our team is looking forward to the growth of our citrus division, and in addition to our plans for citrus in 2024, we will be adding a full lineup of organic stonefruit as well. We are also preparing in-office now for the upcoming season,” she concluded.

We will check in with SGS later in the year to learn more about its organics program, so stay tuned!
