Scholarship Recipients Prepare for Washington

<p>Every year the Frieda Rapoport Caplan Family Business Scholarship Program rewards scholarships to representatives of family run businesses.The program established in 2001 by Karen Caplan and Jackie Caplan Wiggin, was named in honor of Frieda, their mother. The scholarship allows up to four candidates to attend United&rsquo;s Washington Public Policy Conference. The conference occurs annually and is &ldquo;the produce industry's premier political advocacy event.&rdquo; The scholarship itself was designed to incorporate more family business participation in Government policy and produce industry advocacy. The attendees include produce leaders from the spectrum of the industry, Congressional leaders, Administrative officials and family business participants. This years recipients are Barbara Jo Daly,Tami Martin, Micah Desmond, and John J. Pandol.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
