<p>The Allen Lund Company has participated in two events on the East and West Coasts: Navidad en el Barrio in Los Angeles, CA and Wreaths Across America, at Arlington National Cemetery.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hl_allen_lund_dec_19_2013_body00.jpg" alt="images121913" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In keeping with its 8-year tradition, the company worked with growers including Sunsation Farms, Inc., Bolthouse Farms, Taylor Farms, Dayka & Hackett, Farm Fresh, and Grimmway Farms and together they donated the transportation costs for fresh produce and it also provided logistics to move all product into place for Navidad en el Barrio, a non-profit organization which provides food baskets during Christmas to over 20,000 families in need throughout Southern California. Produce donated this year included potatoes, carrots, grapes, celery, broccoli, spinach, and green beans, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"It's so wonderful to be able to provide fresh produce and meals to these families, during this Christmas season," said Allen Lund Company's Director of Marketing, Nora Trueblood.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hl_allen_lund_dec_19_2013_body01.jpg" alt="images121913" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In a separate effort, Allen Lund Company also donated two trucks to assist Wreaths Across America, an organization which coordinates wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as veterans' cemeteries in other locations in all 50 states and beyond. Total, over 6,000 wreaths were distributed.
