Kenny Lund, Vice President of Support Operations at the Allen Lund Company, joined the ANUK crew at this year's United Fresh Produce Expo to discuss challenges faced by today's transportation companies. <hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"Transportation is getting more and more challenging, with more regulations and driver shortages. We're very concerned about having enough capacity to move produce efficiently," stated Mr. Lund. Allen Lund Company is "working closely" with the United Fresh's Supply Chain and Logistics Council, to which Mr. Lund was named chairman. Priorities within the group include a document describing best practices involving the supply chain, loading, transit and receiving fresh produce.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Mr. Lund continues, "Technology is changing, and information has to go out quickly and in so many different ways. We've developed custom software for some major retailers and wholesalers that connects them with their transportation partners that makes it easier to communicate and make sure that you're getting the right rate and not overpaying for transportation.
