YAKIMA, WA - The Associated International Group of Nurseries (AIGN®) just got a little bit bigger as the organization marked its return to in-person conferences with a new member. Recently, the organization assembled in Honolulu, Hawaii, after two years of virtual meetings and welcomed Seven Star Fruits to its ranks.
"AIGN is excited to welcome Seven Star Fruits as its latest AIGN member," said Board Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Gavin Porter. "As our company continues to build on its successful global IP management reach, new members like Seven Star Fruits in India are key to this expansion by bringing the same IP management and variety commercialization skills from their territory onto our global stage. We look forward to working closely with Seven Star Fruits in our development of new proprietary varieties."
With the addition of Seven Star Fruits, AIGN brings its number of member companies to 11, a press release stated. Based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, the company also extends AIGN's global representation.
Seven Star Fruits is dedicated to the development of the agriculture industry in India through innovation and focuses on two primary activities: nursery and fresh produce management. The company will be represented on AIGN's Board of Directors by Aashish Barwale, who has worked in the agricultural sector in India for more than a decade, focusing on research to make the country more self-sufficient in agricultural production.
Following the introduction of Seven Star Fruits to its organization, the AIGN group completed a review of all new and ongoing projects and status updates of the joint ventures it participates in with other breeders and commercializing companies.
