NEWPORT BEACH, CA - What would the restaurant experience be without top-quality potatoes to complement virtually every offering? As the industry gathers at this week’s International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Foodservice Conference in Monterey, California, Basin Gold Cooperative and Sun-Glo of Idaho will be hitting the show floor representing Fresh Solutions Network. The potato providers will be turning attendees’ attention to A Cut Above® fresh potatoes, select Idaho Russets, and a full range of red, yellow, and white onions.

Kathleen Triou, President and Chief Executive Officer, Fresh Solutions NetworkSince 2014, we’ve been bringing the foodservice sector premium-quality potatoes under the A Cut Above brand,” said Kathleen Triou, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fresh Solutions Network. “Chefs are always looking for ways to keep up with their customers' demand for comfort-centric, craveable favorites. Add that to the trend toward plant-based everything, and potatoes rise to the level of signature program status for restaurants—a major demand driver in menu development.”

A Cut Above potatoes are available exclusively from the partners of Fresh Solutions Network. The premium-quality whole white and Russet potatoes are packed in 50 lb bags and cartons, utilizing select varieties to yield consistently great foodservice offerings such as baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, French fries, and more.

As fries remain a top side dish for American consumers, A Cut Above potatoes present foodservice operators with the opportunity to bring crave-worthy potatoes to tables.

Also noting the demand for convenience, Fresh Solutions Network is increasing this factor across its portfolio. Teaming up with NNZ, Inc. packaging, Basin Gold will be introducing new Amazables! microwave potatoes. According to a press release, this Russet potato is packaged in a highly technical film that shrinks around the potato to crispen the potato skin in the microwave. Packed with flavor, these Amazables! will be on display in the tasting booths area of the Foodservice Conference.
