Sam Skogstad, Director of Sourcing & Sales for Brooks Tropicals, joined the ANUK crew at this year's Southeast Produce Council Expo in Orlando, FL. Mr. Skogstad discussed the company's Caribbean Red Papayas, which are grown and packed in food safety audited facilities in Belize. The Caribbean Red is unique in several ways; it has no musky scent, unlike the Maradol variety. It also offers a very sweet taste, and has been well received by a wide demographic, including Asian and Hispanic shoppers. Mr. Skogstad mentioned that the Caribbean Red is in good production this month, and should hold steady through the spring as warm weather continues.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
