SALINAS, CA - I’ve been covering the ins and outs of Church Brothers Farms’ Our Roots Run Deep campaign, and the pillars that make up this philosophy. As Steve Church spoke about the grower’s heritage, he briefly detailed the next generation moving up in the company. His son Chuck Church, who stepped into the role of Chief Performance Officer in January of 2023, is a member of this next generation. I wanted to hear from him about how his role plays into the next phase for Church Brothers Farms.
“I do whatever needs to be done,” he tells me, echoing the work ethic that his father and uncle have instilled into the foundation of the company. “We’re based off of determination and hard work, and my goal is to continue our history and take us to the next level.”
One of the ways in which Church Brothers Farms continues to elevate itself for the next generation is by finding ways in which it can streamline its operations to become a lean outfit that solves its customers' problems.
“The foundation here is strong. We’re only fine-tuning what has already been done. My father taught us that adapting to the needs of the industry and learning every day is one of the ways to continue driving success in the business,” Chuck notes.
Chuck is quick to point to the success of his forebears, and this humility is something I’ve seen throughout my conversations with the Church family.
For a company that stands as a quiet giant in the industry, its success comes from the people who work tirelessly to bring these products to market.
