Duda Farm Fresh Foods' Nichole Towell Discusses Fourth of July Merchandising and More
OXNARD, CA - The Fourth of July is nearly here, but Duda Farm Fresh Foods is making sure the summer fun lasts well after the holiday has ended. The company has launched its “Sweet That Can’t Be Beat” promotion, in which consumers can enter an exclusive sweepstakes. Here to share even more holiday insights is Nichole Towell, Senior Director of Marketing and Packaging Procurement.
“The ‘Sweet That Can’t Be Beat’ online consumer promotion encourages shoppers to purchase Dandy sweet corn this summer. Through this promotion, we are sharing corny facts as well as a number of recipes to increase the consumption of corn throughout the season,” Nichole told me.
The supplier has employed a number of marketing strategies to drive up entries, including social media content and advertising, consumer-focused emails, public relations efforts, as well as influencer partnerships to reach new audiences.
Outside of this promotion, Duda has some helpful insights for retailers to wield to their advantage this Fourth of July.
“The Fourth of July is a major holiday surrounded by eating and grilling, so shoppers are already going to be in the store purchasing items for their parties,” said Nichole. “It’s important to make their meal prep as easy as possible to ensure less time in the kitchen and more with their family and friends. The industry can capitalize on fresh-cut/pre-washed/ready-to-eat options for consumers to easily pick up at the store by promoting their convenience aspects.”
As such, Duda will be promoting the convenience aspect of its fresh-cut celery and radish product lines along with the ready-to-cook tray pack sweet corn as a way to maximize the value of these items.
“Summer is the perfect time to promote fresh,” Nichole concluded. “Corn, celery, and radishes are great additions to salads for an extra crunch, or as a topping/garnish for other dishes. Dandy offers a variety of fresh-cut options for both celery and radish to ensure consumers' needs are met.”
I can feel the foot traffic rumbling, so be sure to have those shelves ready to rock in the lead-up to this food-centric holiday!
