Duncan Family Farms Acquires Pedersen Farms to Expand Organic Operations; Patty Emmert and Rick Pedersen Discuss
GOODYEAR, AZ - Duncan Family Farms has completed an advantageous acquisition in pursuit of further expansion. The supplier acquired New York-based Pedersen Farms, which will help Duncan grow its organic operations specifically. The company aims to diversify its regional and local organic supply while operating as a leader in sustainability and a grower of premium products.
“We are thrilled to be joining forces with Pedersen Farms as their agronomic practices and core values perfectly align with ours at Duncan,” said Patty Emmert, Community Relations and Marketing Manager for Duncan Family Farms. “Rick Pedersen has spent the last 30 years building up the quality of the organic soil and making an impact in his community. This union is precisely the type of operational excellence we believe in and want to strengthen within our organization.”
According to a press release, Pedersen Farms is home to additional varieties of fresh vegetables and operates out of a prime location. Through these advantages, Duncan Family Farms aims to increase its range of products and further mitigate potential supply chain challenges.
Rick Pedersen, who founded Pedersen Farms, will continue with the company as Head of Farming Operations, offering up on-the-ground expertise to help with the transition. Additionally, existing staff members will maintain their current positions with the support of Duncan Family Farms.
“We are so grateful to the local community, our customers, and our team members who have made the last 30 years a reality,” said Pedersen. “We’re excited about the future that is possible with Duncan’s support, and we are proud to be working alongside a team that cares as much as we do about organics and sustainability.”
As Duncan Family Farms pursues these ambitious goals, we at ANUK will be here bringing you the latest news.
