These awards honor companies that have made significant contributions to their industries and society, celebrating those who lead with purpose and innovation. “We are humbled to be recognized by Inc.’s Best in Business Award for Sustainability. This award is the culmination of incredible efforts by our team to pioneer more sustainable packaging formats and innovative farming practices over many years,” said T.Bruce Taylor, Vice President of Organics and CEA, Taylor Farms. “These achievements honor our passion for innovation and environmental stewardship.”

In 2024, the brand completed its conversion of peel-and-reseal lids with its 100 percent recycled plastic trays, a press release stated. This new conversion includes a printed lidding film with no top or bottom label which reduced plastic use by 34-44 percent per package. Overall, this shift reduced Earthbound Farm’s total plastic use by approximately 10 million pounds annually while delivering the freshest greens on Earth.

In addition, in July 2024, Earthbound Farm launched a first-of-its-kind plant-based tray made from recycled plant-based fibers. This new tray is designed to protect the freshness of its produce while using 95 percent less plastic than the standard clamshell package. The tray is H2R certified recyclable with biodegradable certification in process. Consumers have been asking for less plastic and that’s exactly what Earthbound Farm did, leading the sustainable packaging charge in the fresh greens industry.
