MIAMI, FL - Fresh Del Monte Produce is defending an important title. The vertically integrated producer has been named a Humankind 100 Company for the second year in a row.
“Being recognized as a Humankind Company for the second consecutive year demonstrates our dedication to making a positive impact,” said Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We remain committed to creating value not only for our shareholders but for the communities we serve and operate in, which are at the heart of everything we do. This award is an honor for all of us at Fresh Del Monte and inspires us to continue our efforts in creating a Brighter World Tomorrow™.”
Compiled by Humankind Investments, the prestigious Humankind 100 list honors companies that have a significant and positive impact on various critical areas, including access to food and clean water, healthcare, and digital services. As noted in the release, the ranking is based on the proprietary metric known as Humankind Value. It estimates the overall dollar amount a company generates for investors, consumers, employees, and society at large by assessing the benefits provided to humanity.
Fresh Del Monte earned a spot on the Humankind top 100 due to Crop Production ($26.1 billion), Economic Value ($2 billion), and Medical Services ($745.6 million). As noted in the release, the company was also recently honored as one of America’s Most Trusted Companies for the second consecutive year.
The global agriculture and produce company continues to be a leader in sustainability, having earned the SEAL Business Sustainability Award and being shortlisted for a World Sustainability Award in the New Launch category for the Del Monte Zero™ pineapple, Fresh Del Monte’s first carbon-neutral certified pineapple. This prestigious award celebrates newly launched products or services that have an immediate and positive impact on sustainability.
