In addition to the retailers, foodservice members and exhibitors begging the question of how the council would possibly top the 2013 event next year...was the buzz around one of the winners for Best Booth, Frieda’s. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The company helped to seal its award by maintaining the theme for this year's Southern Exposure: Back to the 80's. The booth featured vinyl record albums from the 80's with the faces of Frieda Caplan, Jackie Caplan Wiggins, and Karen Caplan superimposed within the art with a purple twist.<img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/friedas-booth-march-2013-cropped.jpg" alt="Frieda's Images Southern Exposure Winner" />The 50-year-old produce company, known for its signature purple color, has launched a year-long campaign titled The Year of Purple. Promotions will feature Frieda’s latest purple products, as well as trends, tips and health benefits from purple hued fruits and veggies.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Karen Caplan, President and CEO of Frieda’s, tells AndNowUKnow, "There was an overarching theme of purple that really applied at this year's 80's themed show. As purple is a special color to us and has been for 50 years, we were happy to represent.
