SANTA MARIA, CA - After dedicating what some would consider a lifetime of commitment, Al Jasin of Gold Coast Packing has recently announced his retirement, which will be effective July 1.
“I will miss my colleagues at Gold Coast, my former colleagues, and all the friendships that I have been fortunate to develop within the industry throughout the country,” commented Jasin, Regional Sales, as he caps off his 30-year career within the produce industry. Jasin joined Gold Coast in 2016 from Fresh Choice Produce, where he first began his career as Regional Sales in 1992.
Known amongst his Gold Coast peers for his wealth of produce knowledge, noted the release, Jasin is also well-connected within every aspect of the produce industry.
Additionally, Jasin has the reputation of going out of his way to help not only his team but his fellow produce peers. And that is proven through the mark he has left on both his colleagues and the company.
“I want to thank Al for his dedication and work ethic during the more than five years he has been at Gold Coast,” Ron Burk, President and Co-Founder, noted on Jasin’s contributions. “He has a wealth of knowledge of the produce business, and he’s always willing to share that with the other team members—which made our company better. I wish him the best in his retirement that is much deserved.”
Jasin plans to enjoy his retirement by spending more time with his children and grandchildren. Weekly rounds of golf and taking the occasional road trips to visit family and friends around the U.S. are also in the plans, noted the release, and those within the company have nothing but well wishes for him.
“Al Jasin is a pro’s pro in the produce business, and he has been a pleasure to work with at Gold Coast,” Robb Bertels, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, also stated on Jasin’s impact. “He’s had a long and distinguished career, and everyone on the team here wishes him the best in his retirement.”
