WATSONVILLE, CA - Growth is constantly happening all around us, especially in the fresh produce industry. As it looks to ensure continued success in its next generation of leaders, Monterey Mushrooms has just appointed Greg Sweet as its Chief Operating Officer.

Greg Sweet, Chief Operating Officer, Monterey MushroomsIn this newly created role, Greg will oversee the company’s fresh operations, fresh sales, technical services, farm modernization and expansion, and leadership development, according to a press release. Joining Monterey Mushrooms in 1997, Sweet has over 24 years of experience not only in the mushroom industry, but working with the grower as well. During his time with Monterey Mushrooms, Sweet held various leadership roles, most recently serving as Regional Vice President of Operations for the farms and facilities located in the Eastern United States, where he supported the company’s corporate technical services and innovation initiatives.

Sweet also obtained a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from The University of Tennessee in 1988.
