CHICAGO, IL - Apple quality in the United States just keeps getting better, and that is due in part to the shelf-life extending technology brought to market by solutions providers like Hazel Technologies. This Thursday, May 26, the company will be hosting its second annual Apple Quality Summit ahead of the 2022 season.
“From Hazel 100™ to Hazel Datica™ our suite of technologies is built to provide apple growers with a successful season from start to finish,” said Mario Cervantes, Director of Business Development – AgTech at Hazel Technologies. “I can’t wait to discuss the new and exciting ways our technology is benefiting the apple industry during the Quality Summit.”
Speakers for the event will include Dr. Desmond O’Rourke, Founder and Principal at Belrose; Art Varela, Quality Control at River Valley Fruit; Joe Burnham, Owner of Burnham Orchards; Dano Simmons, Owner of Peace Valley Orchards; and Cervantes.
O’Rourke has studied agricultural economics for over 50 years, with a focus in fresh apple, pear, and cherry marketing, a press release stated. In 1994, he founded his consulting company, where he works with leading public and private organizations around the world to provide insights on global market forecasting for a variety of commodities.
“In a time of great geopolitical and market uncertainty, sound assessment of the apple market is critical for making good decisions,” said O’Rourke. “I’m eager to discuss this further during next Thursday’s quality summit.”
Varela, Burnham, and Simmons will be part of an apple perspective panel where they will discuss their proven techniques for gearing up for the apple season. The Summit will close with Cervantes discussing postharvest technologies benefiting the apple category.
The free event will offer both English and Spanish translations, and registration is open to the general industry until May 26, or until capacity is reached.
Be sure to reserve your spot at the Apple Quality Summit before it’s too late!
