NEW ROCHELLE, NY - There’s a new citrus variety joining the Darling Citrus lineup that retailers are going to want to jump on—and fast! LGS Specialty Sales (LGS) announced that it is expanding its Darling Citrus line with the addition of seasonal Chilean Cara Cara oranges.
“We are so excited to be adding Cara Caras to our Darling Citrus line,” said Luke Sears, President and Founder. “Growing our Darling line has been a great accomplishment for LGS, and we are excited to continue supplying the U.S. with fresh, flavorful citrus grown in select regions across the world.”
According to a press release, LGS Specialty Sales provides high-quality citrus to the U.S. year-round by sourcing from growers all around the world. This includes Chile, which provides clementines, oranges, and lemons from early summer to late fall, and Argentina, which produces lemons from early spring through late summer.
“The Darling line is successful because of the select growers we partner with,” added Sears. “Our summer citrus growers have provided us with excellent quality and volume for the summer, and we are excited to now offer our customers an even greater variety with the Darling Cara Caras.”
The Chilean Cara Cara oranges—available August through mid- to late-September—are joining the Darling Citrus line during the peak of its summer program. And because of the orange’s addition to the Darling roster, LGS Specialty Sales is streamlining its messaging across the brand by changing its social medial handles from @DarlingClementines to @DarlingCitrus—leaving opportunities aplenty to continue expanding the Darling Citrus program. The Darling Clementines brand was first established in 1991 and has since evolved to include oranges (available July through October), lemons (available year-round), Minneolas (available now through September), and now Cara Cara oranges.
