PHILADELPHIA, PA – Procacci Brothers Sales Corporation has announced a new partnership with the Spanish Sports Network and Camden Catholic High School (CCHS) in order to create a scholarship fund for Hispanic students.

Procacci (J.M.). of his personal connection to the initiative. “The Procacci family and our companies are so honored to have the opportunity to help provide great educational opportunities for young leaders in the Hispanic community.”

Procacci Brothers is undertaking this endeavor with its affiliated farming operation, Santa Sweets Inc. The companies are donating $16,100 to the “Estrella Naciente” (Rising Star) Scholarship fund, $100 for each home run hit by the Philadelphia Phillies during the 2016 Major League Baseball season. 

According to a press release, the Phillies’ end 2016 season tally of 161 home runs is the team’s highest total since 2010, which encompassed the baseball’s best record. These funds raised will provide renewable tuition assistance to “Rising Star” Hispanic students each year, starting with the 2017 school year for graduates of the 2020 class.

Recipients who will be provided further opportunities through the fund will be selected based on the following: 

  • Academic achievement
  • Financial need
  • Community involvement 

The deadline application for recipients is January 7, 2017, with winners of the scholarship being announced in April of 2017.
