SELAH, WA - Rainier Fruit Company is rewarding the loyalty of consumers by announcing that, for the fifth year in a row, it will be offering its core organic apple varieties year-round. The grower will be supplying organic Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, and Granny Smith apples all summer long so that apple shoppers can enjoy their favorite varieties alongside other quintessential season fruits.
“It’s a testament to the hard work that starts in the field. Decades of farming experience and planting the right varieties in the right growing region has been a recipe for success,” said Mark Zirkle, President of Rainier Fruit. “We grow fruit from the northernmost part of the state down to the Oregon border. This spread protects our fruit from isolated weather events and creates opportunities for late storage of apples.”
Although the overall Washington State crop is down from last year, Rainier Fruit’s diverse growing locations have helped to mitigate some of the weather impacts from last spring, a release explained.
While most retailers focus heavily on soft fruit categories like berries and cherries during the summer months, apple shoppers are still frequenting the produce department in search of their favorite varieties. It is this loyalty that has led to high repeat purchase rates and is one of the things that influenced Rainier to offer its organic core apples year-round.
“Apple shoppers continue to look for the consistency that the fruit provides in the summer months,” added Zirkle. “It’s important to continue to provide them with Washington-grown organic apple supply that they have grown accustomed to all year.”
Reward the dedicated apple fans that frequent your store by adding Rainier Fruit’s core organic apple varieties to the produce aisle.
