NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - Weather reports from yesterday morning detailed the potential for record levels of precipitation that caught this Sacramento, California-based team’s attention. Several areas across Northern California are expected to see high levels of rain and snow into the weekend.

Tahoe, California, will see the bulk of the precipitation. According to Bryan Allegretto, California Snow Forecaster at OpenSnow, there is “a complicated forecast ahead and what could be the wettest October since 2016.”

Several areas across Northern California are expected to see high levels of rain and snow into the weekend

According to the source, a weather system that moved inland on Wednesday will lead to continued showers today across Northern California. High snow levels could potentially reach elevations above 10,000 feet. On Friday, another weather system is expected to move through, bringing with it even more precipitation and snow as low as 7,000 feet in elevation.

After a quick break Saturday morning, the precipitation is expected to continue, with snow potentially reaching as low as 6,500 feet. The storm may continue through Sunday and into Monday, bringing snow all the way down to lake level, and creating snow accumulation in the Sierras.

High snow levels in Northern California could potentially reach elevations above 10,000 feet while some rain showers are expected in the Salinas Valley this weekend, potentially bringing 1-2 inches of rain

In addition to these concentrated storms, The National Weather Service issued a report stating that precipitation will impact areas as high as Eastern Lassen County in addition to the Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

Further down California, PRO*ACT reports that we can expect up to .20 inches of rain showers on Friday in the Salinas Valley, with Sunday and Monday potentially bringing 1–2 inches of rain.

The ANUK team will be excitedly awaiting further news, so don’t go anywhere.
