Sakata Seed America Supports the Annual Salinas Valley Fair

<p>Sakata Seed America is celebrating its inclusion in the 70th Annual Salinas Valley Fair. For this year’s festival, Sakata donated <B>thousands of show plants</b> to the fair organizers to be utilized for the beautification of the fairgrounds and the enjoyment of visitors alike, according to a press release. In addition, the company donated its popular <B>Centennial broccoli seed</b>, along with a pair of coveted <B>San Francisco 49er football tickets</b>, to raise funds in a silent auction event, benefiting The Heritage Foundation.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/sakata_body2_051914.jpg" alt="cropped_image_051614" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">“Salinas Valley is a hugely important growing region for Sakata and is also the home to one of Sakata’s research stations,” said Matt Linder, Senior Manager for Sakata Vegetables. “We are very pleased to be able to support a community that represents many of our growers and seed distributors in the region.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The Heritage Foundation is a group whose purpose is to “preserve and enrich the heritage of the Salinas Valley Fair and showcase agricultural industries to the community.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/sakata_body1_051914.jpg" alt="cropped_image_051614" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Jamie Kitz, Key Account Manager for Sakata Ornamentals, commented, “It’s the least we can do for this great organization.
