WENATCHEE, WA - Brace yourself for the latest news from Stemilt. The supplier is expanding its footprint in an innovative way, recently breaking ground on its newest pear line facility. The facility will be equipped with automated packing systems, defect sorting, and robotic palletizing that create greater efficiencies for the grower.
“We’re in the first week of breaking ground at Stemilt for a new automated pear packing line and we couldn’t be more excited about this investment in pears,” West Mathison, President, told ANUK. “The line will feature World Famous aspects of automated sorting, bagging, and palletizing to get that pear clean to have a great shelf-life. As we build this new pear line, we see a bright future coming up for the Stemilt pear program.”
Stemilt noted in a press release that it is investing in new technology such as this to accentuate quality and flavor for its pear brands like Rushing Rivers® and the newly launched Happi Pear®.
The new pear line facility is expected to be fully operational by the 2023/2024 pear season to increase productivity of Stemilt’s pears coming from Wenatchee, Washington, and the company’s RipeRite™ ripening center.
Cheers to Stemilt on its new facility!
