TopLine Farms has released a very innovative new product and package design. Roma grape tomatoes are packaged in a clamshell with flavor infused olive oil.
"Here at Westmoreland/TopLine Farms we are always looking to innovate, as difficult as that may be in this industry, and by innovate we do not mean just changing up the packaging. So we came up with the idea of trying to give the consumers something extra with the purchases they normally make by adding some flavor infused olive oil," said Jimmy Coppola, Account Manager/Marketing for Westmoreland Sales.
This new product won a Best New Product Award at the 2014 Canadian Produce Marketing Association Convention & Trade Show in Vancouver (CPMA) and it's easy to see why.
The individual olive oil packs are molded into the clamshell and offer the consumer an option on how to enjoy these gourmet greenhouse offerings. There are several different oil flavors available, including Sweet, Spicy, Sweet and Spicy, and Balsamic. These oils are the perfect addition for a quick salad; just rinse, drizzle and enjoy.
