CHICAGO, IL - Taking shoppers out of their mundane day-to-day activities is sometimes all it takes to have them pulling out their wallets and trying new things. Thanks to an enticing grocery store format, consumers will come face-to-face with deliciously sweet apples in a fun and exciting way, as New York Apple Sales’ Yes! Apples will be showcased at the world’s first traveling pop-up grocery store, Pop Up Grocer, as it makes its Chicago debut.

Tenley Allen Fitzgerald, Vice President of Marketing, Yes! Apples“Yes! Apples is thrilled to be a part of Pop Up Grocer as one of the only fresh products featured,” said Tenley Fitzgerald, Vice President of Marketing, Yes! Apples. “We deliver the country’s best-tasting apples to grocery stores nationwide. We view this event as an avenue to introduce consumers to varieties they may not yet be familiar with, like KORU®, a cross between Braeburn and Fuji varieties, and New-York exclusive SnapDragon®, which gets its juicy crispness from its Honeycrisp parent and has a spicy-sweet flavor.”

Yes! Apples is the first apple brand to adopt this strategy to take a multi-channel, consumer-first approach and connect directly with shoppers beyond the produce aisle by driving customers to retail through lifestyle content and partnerships online, a press release explained. The woman-owned, New York-grown apple brand will be one of the 100-plus select brands showcased at Pop Up Grocer April 30 through May 30 in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.

Embarking on a mission to provide a unique space for discovery, Pop Up Grocer creates an environment that still has the grocery store feel—including shelves, fridges, and the exciting products that adorn them—while stimulating shoppers’ senses and taking them out of the normal, monotonous shopping mentality.

Emily Schildt, Founder, Pop Up Grocer“We select our pop-up locations at the point where demand from our community and demand from our participating brands meet,” said Emily Schildt, Pop Up Grocer Founder. “Chicago has come as a consistent request from both ever since we launched two years ago, and we are thrilled to bring our best product assortment yet to a city known for its love and appreciation of food, creativity, and art.”

While shoppers may peruse the shelves out of appreciation for art and creativity, it’s their appreciation for these delicious apples that will leave them wanting more. AndNowUKnow will continue to bring you the latest news in the fresh produce industry, so keep an eye out.
