WASHINGTON, DC - In its ongoing efforts to recognize leaders across the produce industry for their tireless work, United Fresh has announced that nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 Retail Produce Manager Awards program through January 8, 2021. The program sponsored by Dole Food Company recognizes 25 outstanding retail produce managers for their achievements. 2021 will mark the 17th year of the awards celebration.

Johan Linden, Chief Executive Officer, Dole Food Company"Once again our produce shelves are fully stocked. After so many months we may come to expect it; but let us not forget that there is still a pandemic and that stores and produce managers continue dealing with it directly every day," shared Johan Linden, CEO of Dole Food Company. "Yes, we are proud to again sponsor the United Fresh Retail Produce Manager Awards that recognize the best of them, but more than that, it is a privilege to be able to honor and thank every one of them."

The awards program recognizes leaders across retail for their contributions to the fresh produce industry and their outstanding achievements in categories like innovative merchandising, produce-related community outreach, increased store sales, and recognition amongst company peers. According to a press release, this year’s nomination is especially important as it draws attention to produce managers as they have become essential workers during these uncertain times, putting themselves on the front lines to ensure healthy fresh produce is available for shoppers everywhere.
