USDA Files Action Against Khalid A. Mohmand aka Green Farms Produce for PACA Violations by Jordan Okumura

<p>The USDA has filed an administrative action under the PACA against Khalid A. Mohmand, doing business as Green Farms Produce for failure to pay 12 produce sellers $499,905 from September 2010 through May 2012.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The company will have an opportunity to request a hearing and should USDA find that Green Farms Produce committed repeated and flagrant violations, Mohmand would be barred from obtaining a PACA license for two years, according to a press release. Mohmand may not be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee for one year and then only with the posting of a USDA-approved surety bond.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>USDA has resolved approximately 5,000 claims filed under PACA involving $96 million during the course of the past three years.
