<p> After devastating the Southeast with a ‘catastrophic’ ice storm this past Wednesday, the Northeast is going to be facing further chilling impacts that will inevitably result in further transportation issues. A number of ports and terminals in the Northeast will be closed today as a result of the traveling storm, including Port Elizabeth, NJ and the Port of Philadelphia.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/hl_port_closure_feb_12_2014_body01.jpg" alt="images 021214" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The terminals that will be closed in Port Elizabeth, NJ include Global Terminal, APM Berth 88, PNCT, and Maher. In the Port of Philadelphia, Dole Norton Lilly International will be closed, along with Packer Ave, whose gate hours are extended on Friday until 7 p.m. Other terminals in the Northeast will be closed, such as Red Hook Terminal, NYCT (New York City Terminal), and terminals in Norfolk, according to an Advance Customs press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Steve Koster, E. Armata at the Hunts Point Market, New York, has already been seeing the impact of the storm. Roads especially have felt the brunt of the ice and snow. “When the roads are covered with snow and ice, deliveries will slow and possibly stop,” he tells AndNowUKnow. “We’re already being impacted as trucks are warning of delays coming from the south and west.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> 5 to 12 inches of snow is expected to hit areas of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the Hudson Valley of New York, according to The Weather Channel. A swath of snow will also affect parts of Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City metros before potentially mixing with or changing to sleet or rain. However, despite the amount of snow that’s expected to hit the region, the storm is expected to move faster through these areas when compared to the South, according to MyFoxDC.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Stay tuned to AndNowUKnow as we follow the winter storm challenges of the season.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href=" http://www.weather.com/news/winter-storm-pax-forecast-northeast-middle-atlantic-new-york-dc-philadelphia-boston-20140211" target="_new"> The Weather Channel </a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href=" http://www.myfoxdc.com/story/24689376/major-winter-storm-to-target-dc-region#axzz2t9pAXVmS" target="_new"> MyFoxDC </a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href="http://www.advancecustomsbrokers.com" target="_new"> Advance Customs </a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
