MONTEREY, CA - In the fresh produce industry, building your brand and having it be recognizable among consumers and buyers is crucial. One company that knows about creating a name for itself is Westfalia Fruit, which is why as we meandered our way throughout this year’s PMA Foodservice show, we made it a point to stop by the company’s booth to talk to David Fausset, Director of Business Development.
“There’s a lot of really good decision makers that are out here in the foodservice arena, so it’s really good to catch up with a lot of old friends and contacts,” David told us, excited for the chance to see familiar faces. “We’re talking about the future of foodservice, and so it’s good to engage with everybody and just talk about what we’re doing now and in the future.”
And what are Westfalia’s plans for the future? David explains that the avocado purveyor is looking to continue growing and building its brand to serve its range of customers. Whether it be in retail or foodservice, the company offers a year-round supply of avocados in the U.S.
“…We’ve been in the business a long time. We have avocados from all over the globe. Whether its Mexico, California, Peru, Colombia, Chile, and South Africa, where we’re one of the biggest growers of South African avocados. We are the largest,” he added. “We sell fruit globally worldwide, importing and exporting.”
