PLANT CITY, FL - What’s more exciting than celebrating 100 years in business? Ringing in a century alongside rock legends ZZ Top, which is exactly what Wish Farms did at its second annual PixieRock® music festival.
“PixieRock® was born out of our family’s love for live music and a desire to support great causes,” said Gary Wishnatzki, Wish Farms third-generation Owner and self-proclaimed Head Pixie. “Not only does this give us an opportunity to make a difference in our community, it gives our employees, growers, vendors, customers, and friends a chance to celebrate all who have contributed to our century of success.”
The music festival and 100th anniversary celebratioin took place on Saturday, November 12, on the front lawn of Wish Farms’ headquarters in Plant City, a release explained. In addition to headliner ZZ Top, attendees enjoyed the sounds of performances from Blanco Brown, Saint Motel, and Bishop Briggs. They also indulged in gourmet food, hand-crafted beverages, and a silent auction.
In addition to celebrating this exciting milestone for Wish Farms, the event raised money for the company’s charitable giving throughout the year and beyond. Started in 2019, The Wish Farms Family Foundation focuses on three pillars: food insecurity, youth education, and community. With the grower covering the cost of the event, all proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships went to Feeding Tampa Bay, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, and the Wish Farms Family Foundation. Silent auction funds benefitted Redlands Christian Migrant Association.
“This year’s PixieRock raised an astounding $640,000. We had an amazing energy and response from the community. Seeing the legendary ZZ Top perform here was the icing on our birthday cake,” added Wishnatzki. “This impressive amount raised would not be possible without the generosity of our 56 sponsors and more than 1,100 attendees.”
The event had 56 corporate and individual sponsors, including Jerue Trucking, Sonoco Highland, Farm Credit of Central Florida, Patterson Companies, Packaging Corporation of America, and Sweet Life Farms.
