PLANT CITY, FL - On the heels of the recent launch of its Pink-A-Boo Pineberries®, Wish Farms has more big news to share as the berry supplier and marketer has tapped Carlos Fear as its new Director of Berry Genetics.
“My focus is to help Wish Farms breed and license superior proprietary genetics from the leading players throughout the world,” said Fear. “I have a keen interest in developing exceptional flavor through the understanding of chemistry, molecular genetics, germplasm, sensory analysis, and optimization of production practices.”
Fear joins the Wish Farms team with over three decades of experience in the industry and a reputation as a renowned plant breeder and horticulturalist. As noted in a release, the majority of his career was spent at Driscoll’s, during which he helped develop many berry varieties and is an inventor or coinventor on 35 patents of raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
In his new role, he will be based in Salinas, California, and will build on the company’s already well-established breeding efforts.
Gary Wishnatzki, Owner, shared his enthusiasm for Fear’s addition to the Wish Farm’s team.
“Adding Carlos to our team is a major milestone for our company,” he commented. “His track record is phenomenal, and this move fits perfectly into our long-term strategic vision to develop and brand proprietary berry varieties that taste great.”
Congratulations to Carlos Fear and Wish Farms on this new development in their success!
