The California Grape & Tree Fruit League recently held its 77th annual meeting on March 25, 2012 at the Montage Laguna Beach in Laguna Beach, CA. Sarah Hoxie joined industry leaders to discuss the hot topics of the day. <hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Ryan Zaninovich, Chairman of the Board of Directors, CGTFL notes that the annual meeting allows the industry to come together to celebrate the CGTFL and address the league's mutual goals. Stopping legislation that can hurt the farming industry is always a priority; ensuring that regulations and things of that nature don't hurt the industry.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Barry Bedwell, President, CGTFL, shares the messages that the league is seeking to communicate. Continuing to have a dialogue with all segments of the political spectrum, is always top of mind. Sacramento is a great example of the challenges that they face, Mr. Bedwell tells us, it is the start of an issue that addresses the notion that this is not about partisan politics but is really about creating an environment where they can understand the importance of a domestic food supply. All CGTFL members as well as all growers of fruits and vegetables have a vital role in providing this nation with these healthy products.
