<p>Members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union announced it had reached a tentative agreement with Ralphs (Kroger), Vons (Safeway) and Albertsons (Supervalu) in Southern California. The agreement was reached after an eight month period of negotiations, involvement and activism from grocery workers.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">With dedicated workers and backing from customers and supporters across Southern California, the tentative agreement succeeded in achieving a new proposal. The contract, once ratified will cover 62,000 UFCW grocery workers, 28,000 grocery workers at chains like Stater Brothers, Food 4 Less, Gelson’s Market and other markets.
