Anthony Vineyards is gearing up for an early Coachella Valley organic grape season. Warm, mild weather this spring has moved up the grape harvest by about 2 weeks with flame seedless slated to be in promotable volumes for Memorial Day ads. Organic sugraones will be ready to ship the week of May 12th along with organic black seedless.
“With the desert deal starting earlier this year we will have good supplies for Memorial Day ads. Also, our organic grape program will have strong demand when we start harvest on May 5th since there hasn’t been any organic grapes around since early December,” Rob Spinelli tells AndNowUKnow.
This year, Anthony Vineyards is increasing acreage in Coachella but has more significantly taken strides to expand its organic grape offerings into December.
Anthony Vineyards can pack-to-order on most organic grapes due to individual retailer requests and the goal of bringing only the freshest product to market.
“The big challenges in the organic arena are late season availability and consistency of supply throughout the year. Anthony Vineyards is responding to the demand with recent expansions within our program,” Spinelli notes.
Coachella will finish at the end of June, about the same time that Arvin will start.
