Bee Sweet Citrus Anticipates Strong Summer Imports
- by Robert Schaulis
FOWLER, CA – Summer is in full swing, and Bee Sweet Citrus is anticipating a strong start to its summer import program.
“Fresh, high quality citrus is always in demand,” noted Joe Berberian, Sales Manager, in a company press release. “Through our summer import program, however, we can provide the consumer and the retailer with the citrus they need, every day of the year.”
While the company is known for its outstanding California-grown citrus, Bee Sweet Citrus is also partnered with growers from the Southern Hemisphere in order to provide high-quality fruit throughout the year.
“Bee Sweet Citrus is grower, packer, and shipper of premium California citrus,” said Berberian. “While our domestic season has come to an end, we can continue to provide exceptional citrus to our consumers through our summer import program.”
Bee Sweet Citrus has been cultivating close ties with Chilean and Peruvian growers for the last 15 years. In order to ensure that imported products are safe, fresh, and high quality, all products are audited in food safety, social accountability, and sustainability by the Bee Sweet Citrus Food Safety and Quality Control team.
“All imported citrus is sent straight to our facility where it’s re-graded to ensure the high quality,” said Sales Representative Jason Sadoian. “Additionally, we offer our customers the ability to repack and reconfigure the fruit to any specific pack style that they may want during the program.”
The company receives imported Clementines, Navel Oranges, Cara Caras, Minneolas, and lemons from May through October. Additionally, the company’s sales team handles all import clearance, logistics, and inventory, and conducts weekly market analysis calls with its international partners.
AndNowUKnow will continue to report on developments in the produce industry throughout the season.
