Botden Orchards Ltd. (Global Fruit), growers of the premium winter “Red Prince” apple, has announced the acquisition of Binkley Apples.
Botden Orchards Ltd. has enjoyed a symbiotic business relationship with Binkley Apples for several years as its preferred packer/shipper. This strategic acquisition will assure its current and potential retail and wholesale business partners of its pledge for continued quality and service, according to a press release.
“We are all very excited about this new business endeavor and the opportunities it presents for all stakeholders,” said Marius Botden, owner of Botden Orchards. “This year promises to be a stellar year for apple production in Ontario and we are well positioned to meet the retail demand for great quality.”
Botden Orchards Ltd. will continue to pack its Ontario apple varietals under the Binkley Apples brand name. The company looks forward to begin its packing operation in mid-September.
