Below freezing temperatures are expected for the central and southern San Joaquin Valley, as well as parts of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.
Low-lying areas in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley could fall a few degrees below freezing for up to 3 hours next few mornings, according to Terry Snow and his weather advisory service.
The coldest morning should occur on Wednesday around Wasco, Hanford, Lemoore, Madera, Sanger, Reedley, Lindsay and other additional low-lying areas away from the bigger cities.
Low areas that have light to calm winds and creek bottoms are most susceptible to experience lows briefly below freezing while areas with winds should stay above freezing.
In portions of San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties decreasing winds will allow the temperature to drop below freezing, bringing the risk of patchy frosts Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Growers in Salinas are expecting a brief delay, but minimal negative effects.
