<p><strong>Minneapolis, MN</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Green Giant has launched its “One Giant Pledge” campaign it an effort to increase the consumption of vegetables while making it fun. The company is asking parents to engage their families and take an oath with the Jolly Green Giant and pledge to eat one more vegetable every day.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> With support from a TV commercial, the fully integrated campaign kicks off on the Green Giant Facebook page this week. The campaign will culminate with an augmented reality event in New York City where participants can take One Giant Pledge with a larger-than-life, interactive Green Giant. Alison Sweeney, actress, author, host of “The Biggest Loser” will be present along with nutritionist Melissa Halas-Liang, to join in the pledging and discuss with other parents what it is to raise kids to make healthy food choices.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> By visiting the Green Giant Facebook page, family members can upload a picture to generate a customized pledge interaction with the Green Giant. The fun “Proof of Pledge” photo can be used for sharing online or printing a daily reminder, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">A printable "Proof of Pledge” 30-day pledge calendar is available on the Facebook page, and makes tracking progress easy and fun. Pledges will be randomly selected to be turned into veggie art featured on the Green Giant Facebook page. The first 10,000 children who pledge will receive a One Giant Pledge wristband. Parents can also request to receive text messages of encouragement for their kids from the Green Giant and can download a “Ho, Ho, Ho!” Green Giant ringtone.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Jamie Strachan, CEO, Green Giant® Fresh, states, “We developed the Farmville Online Social media promotion two years ago and started the Green Giant Facebook page as a way to coordinate these types of innovative events.” Mr. Strachan, continues, “This is another great example where we are using social media and the Green Giant to create fun ways for kids and families to eat vegetables.
