Hollandia Produce, L.P. has donated two new salad bars to the Conejo Valley Unified School District as part of United Fresh’s “Let’s Move Salad Bars to California Schools” campaign.
Vincent Choate, Director of Marketing for Hollandia, formally presented the donation, which included a Westlake High School salad bar, to Lou Lichtl, Thousand Oaks High School principal and Sandy Curwood, Conejo Valley Unified School District Director of Child Nutrition Services and the Associate Student Body who was among the dignitaries accepting on behalf of Conejo Valley USD, according to a press release.
“We are very excited about Hollandia Produce’s generous donation,” said Curwood. “These salad bars support our efforts to source local, seasonal produce to serve to our students as part of our meal program, and support the valuable nutrition, agriculture, and environmental lessons we’ve focused on with our students, staff, and community.”
This is Hollandia’s fifth salad bar donation since joining United Fresh’s “Let’s Move Salad Bars to California Schools” campaign. Hollandia CEO Pete Overgaag commented, “Through this initiative, we can support better access to healthy food and influence children and families to increase their intake of fruits and vegetables.”
