TORREON, MEXICO - With PMA Fresh Summit just around the corner, Kingdom Fresh is gearing up for the annual trade show with new developments in its program and a season of growth planned as we look to 2018.

General Manager Jaime Garcia joins me in the run up to the show, to chat about organics, expansion, and what we can expect in New Orleans.

Jaime Garcia, General Manager, Kingdom Fresh“This year we are expanding our organics program to ramp up for the new year and are concentrating on our Roma production as well as our vine-ripened tomatoes,” Jaime shares, adding that the company is currently surveying its customer base to see what varieties are in the highest demand. “We have a 100-acre expansion slated at our Puebla, Mexico, ranch which should greatly increase our offerings and add to the new organic grape tomato program we already have in place.”

The positive reaction Kingdom Fresh has received from customers in regards to the organic expansion, has informed the company that this is one area of growth where investments are key.

“The tomato market will be strong in the last leg of the year due to the impact of hurricanes in the Southeast as well as in Mexico, and we are looking forward to rising demand for flavorful, quality, tomatoes across the U.S.” Jaime tells me. “I anticipate demand will continue to rise through October and November especially in the Northeast. We will be ready.”

Kingdom Fresh grows only the best varieties to ensure the most vibrant and deep colors as well as the rich tomato flavor, quality, and texture that customers have come to expect. With years of careful research and varietal selection, Kingdom Fresh is looking forward to an exciting future.

This year will be the 10th anniversary for Kingdom Fresh as a PMA Fresh Summit exhibitor and they are going all-in with the company’s full portfolio of tomatoes, and its organic growth.

“Our farms just turned 15 years old as well in 2017, so we have much to celebrate with our 550 acres in Mexico and incredible team,” Jaime says, adding the company will be hosting small events to commemorate the milestone. “We appreciate each and every team member and employee who has helped us grow and evolve our offerings, brand, and vision.”

Congratulations to Kingdom Fresh on your tremendous growth, a celebratory year, and an exciting road ahead!
