IMMOKALEE, FL - Having an influence on your community not only means greater brand visibility, but a deeper connection to the consumers you serve. Lipman Family Farms has planted deep roots in its own community, and recently gave back with its 12th annual Backpack Giveaway and Back to School Event, which drew in over 2,000 attendees on Saturday, August 6, in Immokalee, Florida.
“We are so appreciative of the organizations and volunteers that really make this event a success. It has become so much more than backpacks and school supplies, but a place for us to come together and support one another as a community,” Jaime Weisinger, Director of Community Relations, shares. “We are just so proud to have five generations of family growing with the Immokalee community.”
The grower hosted a full morning of services, music, food, games, and resources from community exhibitors thanks to the partnerships of over 50 non-profit organizations. Through the free event, Lipman aims to lend a helping hand to students and families in need while celebrating the start of the 2022–2023 school year. The company also held a successful 5K Walk and Run earlier this year to raise funds for the event, generating approximately $90,000, the largest amount raised thus far.
According to a press release, Lipman successfully handed out over 1,500 backpacks, 300 bikes, gift cards, and free back-to-school haircuts to elementary and middle school students in town. In total, Lipman has distributed a total of 16,000 backpacks to children in their community.
“The importance of education stems back to the beginning for us, and we make it a priority to support our communities in this way at the event and throughout the year,” Weisinger explains, touching on Lipman’s three pillars of supporting children, education, and hunger relief.
We tip our hats to Lipman Family Farms for this important work!
