“We love sharing the story of Texas citrus, and PMA is always a great event for us. Aside from the outstanding opportunity to introduce our company to prospective customers, it’s an opportunity to see some old friends and make some new ones,” Trent Bishop, the company’s Vice President of Sales, explains. “We’ll also have our new Holiday Gift Box, which was created to catch the consumer on-the-go, promote impulse purchases, and provide an eye-catching option for gifts, get-togethers, and holiday functions. 
Texas Red Grapefruit runs from October to April, with peak sweetness from November to March. Texas is also home to the super red, super sweet Winter Sweetz label and the Rio Star® grapefruit variety, helped made sweet by the state’s optimal soil and climate. These, as well as the company’s Texas-grown oranges, are all tree-ripened, actually stored on the tree until hitting the peak of flavor. This distinction is part of why all of Lone Star’s offerings are must-sees for buyers attending the PMA Fresh summit show.
