McDonald's Partners with Alliance for a Healthier Generation to Promote Healthy Eating

<p> During the 2013 CGI Annual Meeting in New York City, McDonald’s and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation have announced a partnership to increase access to fruits and vegetables and create a marketing campaign that will inspire children and families to make healthier choices. These actions will <B>affect more than 85% of McDonald’s global sales</b>, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Along with this partnership, McDonald’s is committed to allowing all customers to order a side salad, fruit, or vegetable as a substitute for French fries in value meals. In addition, McDonald’s will be changing the way the company advertises Happy Meals, beginning with the promotion of water, milk, and juice as beverages in Happy Meals on menu boards and in-store and external advertising. Happy Meal packaging will also be changed to generate excitement for fruit, vegetable, low/reduced-fat dairy, or water options for kids, ultimately communicating a fun nutrition message for children.
