Mission Produce's Jennifer Anazawa Comments on the Grower's Recent Besties Award

SACRAMENTO, CA - Here at AndNowUKnow and The Snack, we spend a lot of time visualizing the produce aisle of a grocery store. Where might we find avocados on the shelf in July, and how does that influence other items in the department? These are the questions we ask as we traverse this ever-changing landscape, and Mission Produce responds with a new merchandising campaign every time.

So, when our team sat down to decide on the 2022 Besties Awards recipients, this is one company that immediately came to mind. From Mission’s Size-Minded display signs, AvocaDOs and Don’ts back-of-the-house signage/resources, and Shelf Talkers to the vibrant packaging that adorns its products, it was clear to us that the avocado maven should be awarded with Best Merchandising Campaigns.

Looking back at the Besties event that took place in Monterey, California, this July, we connected with Mission’s Jennifer Anazawa, Senior Category Manager, to get her take on this honor.

For all of these reasons and many, many more, we view Mission Produce as a leader in the category and an innovator in its own right. The avocado and mango sectors are two areas where we’ve seen impressive growth in terms of consumer demand, and that is due in large part to the creative merchandising efforts implemented by Mission and its retail partners.
