Monterey Mushrooms Donates to Hurricane Relief Efforts

SALINAS, CA - To support hurricane relief efforts, Monterey Mushrooms donated $52,000 and more than 30,000 cases of frozen vegetarian mushroom products to food banks in several different states.

Of the $52,000 donated, company employees raised $26,000 through donations, which was then matched by Kazemi for a total of $52,000. In addition, each case of frozen vegetarian mushroom products supplies 30 meals and more than 900,000 servings.

The company noted in a press release that Monterey Mushrooms appreciates its customers’ patience and understanding as it recovers from the heavy blow its Orlando farm received from Hurricane Irma that disrupted its supply chain.

Monterey Mushrooms has also invited its colleagues in the produce industry to join in contributing to the relief efforts at the following organizations American Red Cross, UNICEF, and United for Puerto Rico.
