Shipping terminals in the Chilean Port of Valparaiso are operating, but at a slower than normal pace, PortWorld.com reported.
The port has reportedly said that the TPS, TCVAL and ZEAL terminals are currently operating.
Although access to and from the port is open, the port is having trouble getting complete crews, which has slowed operations.
The Chilean port city of Valparaiso is recovering from a large fire that spread through some of the neighborhoods and forested areas. The fire destroyed close to 2,000 homes and thousands of residents were evacuated. Firefighters battled the flames for several days. Pacific winds, steep hills, and narrow winding streets made extinguishing the blaze much more difficult.
Residents have begun returning to their homes, but some areas are still without power.
As locals return to work and shipments resume, it appears that things are starting to get back to normal.
