<p>Don Hamblen, Roundy’s Group Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, has <B>left the company</b> as part of a restructuring that ran concurrent with its recent sale of 18 Rainbow stores.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Since its decision to depart from the Minneapolis/St.Paul market, Roundy’s has been reviewing opportunities to restructure its business to <B>gain efficiencies</b>. “As part of this review, it was determined that our operational structure would be more effective if we combined the marketing and merchandising groups <B>under one umbrella</b>,” said James Hyland, Roundy’s Vice President of Investor Relations. “We wish Mr. Hamblen well in his future endeavors.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img class="small-cropped-image" src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacySmallCroppedImages/1pic.jpg" alt="cropped_image_051214" />Prior to joining Roundy’s in August 2012, Hamblen was the Senior Vice President of Customer Marketing at Family Dollar Stores. He also worked at Sears as the Chief Marketing Officer from 2008 to 2010, according to Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Last Wednesday, Roundy’s sold 18 of its Rainbow stores in the Twin Cities for <B>$65 million</b> to a group of local grocery retailers, including Supervalu. President and CEO Robert A. Mariano said that the economic downturn and increased competition in the area has made it difficult to keep the Rainbow banner competitive. The sale will allow the company to further grow its Mariano’s banner in the Chicago market and strengthen the business in its core Wisconsin markets.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> What other developments will result from Roundy’s restructuring?
