<p><strong>Vero Beach, FL</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">South African Summer Citrus was recently featured at a product demonstration at the MacDill and Patrick Air Force Bases in Florida as well as the Oceana Naval Air Station and Quantico Marine Corps Base in Virginia.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The demonstrations were part of a joint effort between Seald Sweet, the Western Cape Citrus Producers Forum, and the Military Produce Group to promote citrus this summer in over 80 of the Defense Commissary Agency’s stores in the eastern U.S. The event aimed to educate commissary customers about the benefits of fresh South African citrus, the seasonality of summer citrus, and to raise awareness of the Fisher House Foundation.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">As part of the product demonstrations, samples of fresh South African navels and clementines were handed out to customers along with product information, recipes, and promotional items. Materials promoting Seald Sweet’s summer citrus fundraising programs were also distributed, which benefited the Fisher House Foundation—a not-for-profit organization designed to help wounded service members and their families by donating “comfort homes” built on the grounds of major military centers. Gray Vinson, Account Executive for Seald Sweet’s military business, states, “During the past ten years of our summer citrus category growth, this is our fourth season promoting the Fisher House program.
