MILLEN, GA - The Southeast Produce Council (SEPC) is harnessing the power of its dedicated members to create paths to new opportunities for the future generation. The trade association recently announced its Member Scholarship recipients for 2022, awarding 59 scholarships totaling $59,000.
SEPC’s membership scholarships are presented to applicants who meet the criteria of having a parent or grandparent who is a corporate member in good standing with the SEPC and has personally attended at least one SEPC event within the last 12 months. Applicants must also be enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 semester hours. SEPC Member Scholarship recipients receive one $1,000 scholarship annually, according to a press release.
Applicants who meet these criteria can submit an essay to be reviewed by the members of the SEPC Scholarship Committee. This year’s essay topic surrounded the “Next Generation of Superheroes” and reflects on a time in the applicant’s life when they were faced with the decision to take a risk or play it safe.
Past recipients are also eligible for the scholarships, however, they must have maintained a 3.0 GPA, and first preference is given to new applicants.
