<p>Starbucks is once again taking steps to expand its fruit and vegetable offerings with a planned expansion of its recently acquired juice unit, Evolution Fresh. Evolution Fresh will quadruple capacity with the opening of a new factory as Starbucks seeks to increase its share of the $1.6 billion super-premium fruit drink industry, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Evolution Fresh was acquired by Starbucks in 2011 for $30 million. The new facility will employ 190 employees in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The $70 million, 264,000 square-foot factory will be Starbucks’ sixth manufacturing site in the U.S.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Evolution Fresh juice is sold in about 5,000 Starbucks cafes and the beverages will continue to roll out to all 11,200 U.S. stores in the next year, the report states.
